About The Position
This is a part-time position for a Special Education Educational Assistant, working 5.9 hours per day for 188 work days. The role involves supporting adolescent learners in an environment of high expectations. The start date for this position is July 29, 2026, with an application deadline of May 21, 2026.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Demonstrate aptitude for the work to be performed in an environment of high expectations and with adolescent learners
Responsibilities
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently, accurately, and in a timely manner and without constant supervision
- Support individual students in a one-on-one situation
- Demonstrate flexibility, confidentiality, and professionalism
- Promote a positive learning environment for students while maintaining discipline when needed
- Provide behavioral and academic support in both regular and special education classrooms with poise and confidence
- Maintain and operate a variety of assistive technology
- Accept tasks and responsibilities willingly and pleasantly from both teachers and/or case managers
- Maintain above average attendance including attendance to necessary in-service and staff trainings/meetings
- Administer and monitor regular classroom testing and statewide testing
- Assist with direct observation/data collection and assessment for the RTI process
- Facilitate re-teaching and extra instruction in a wide variety of courses including math, English, social studies, science, and foreign language
