About The Position

Jovie of San Antonio is looking for energetic, reliable, and caring sitters to support families in the San Antonio area. This is a part-time position with flexible weekday scheduling, ideal for students, childcare professionals, or anyone who loves working with children. The role involves providing in-home care, engaging children in age-appropriate activities, supporting daily routines, and ensuring a safe environment. Sitters will be matched with families within a 30-mile radius of their home, with gas reimbursement offered.

Requirements

  • 2–3 professional childcare references (non‑family)
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain—training options available)
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Availability for two consistent weekdays where you can accept assignments anytime between 7AM–7PM
  • 1+ year of childcare experience providing independent, in-home care for children (infant through school-age). Daycare or classroom experience is welcome only when combined with sole-care experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide independent, in-home care for children, including infants and young toddlers, while maintaining a safe and nurturing environment
  • Engage children in age‑appropriate, safe, and fun activities, supporting developmental milestones, learning, and play
  • Support daily routines such as meals, playtime, and bedtime (Ex. prepare and assist with bottle feeding, meals, and snacks, following family instructions and dietary needs)
  • Provide transportation when needed (reliable vehicle required)
  • Maintain a safe environment and handle minor first‑aid needs
  • Follow family preferences to ensure a great experience for both kids and parents
  • Support infant and toddler routines, including diapering, potty training (when applicable), naps, and soothing techniques
