Position Summary: The Part-Time Server/Bartender is responsible for delivering exceptional table service and dining experiences to members and guests at Feather Sound Country Club. This role focuses primarily on providing high-quality food and beverage service in the restaurant and dining rooms, while also performing bartending duties as needed. The position requires a strong commitment to member satisfaction, professional service standards, and teamwork in a fast-paced country club environment. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: Regular part-time position, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Flexibility in scheduling is preferred and expected. Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED required, Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Previous fine dining or country club serving experience strongly preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of food and beverage menus, with the ability to make informed recommendations and suggest pairings.
  • Strong understanding of restaurant service procedures, table management, and guest experience standards.
  • Knowledge of mixology, traditional and creative cocktails, beer, wine, and flavor pairings.
  • General math skills and ability to handle cash and operate a POS system accurately.
  • Food Handler’s certification (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Knowledge of applicable alcohol service laws and regulations.
  • Ability to safely operate motorized golf carts and other equipment.
  • Reliable transportation, good conversational English skills, punctuality, and professional appearance and mannerisms appropriate for a country club setting.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Word, Excel, point-of-sale systems, and reservation systems.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a genuine desire to exceed guest expectations and deliver outstanding table service.
  • Excellent time management and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, and the ability to maintain composure under pressure.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Extreme attention to detail and commitment to quality in all aspects of service.
  • Ability to follow verbal directions and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns.
  • Professionalism and poise suitable for a private country club environment.
  • Ability to enforce alcohol service policies courteously and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive and professional table service to members and guests, ensuring an elevated dining experience.
  • Greet members by name whenever possible, anticipate their needs, and offer personalized food and beverage recommendations.
  • Present menus, take accurate food and drink orders, and ensure timely and correct delivery of all items.
  • Monitor tables throughout the meal to ensure guests are enjoying their experience and promptly address any concerns or special requests.
  • Relay important information about orders, allergies, and special requests to the kitchen and appropriate staff.
  • Prepare and serve beverages, including mixing traditional and creative cocktails, pouring beers and wine properly, and recommending appropriate pairings.
  • Verify identification and age requirements for all alcohol service in compliance with applicable laws.
  • Open, monitor, and close member/guest tabs accurately and process payments using the point-of-sale system.
  • Prepare to-go orders and ensure they are complete and accurate.
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and sanitary practices in the dining areas, bar, tables, glassware, and workstations throughout the shift.
  • Perform opening and closing side work, including breakdown of bar and dining areas and cleaning of all equipment.
  • Build strong rapport with regular members to create a warm, welcoming, and positive atmosphere.
  • Market the food and beverage operation to support the financial success of the club.
  • Work effectively within a team to complete time-sensitive tasks and support overall service operations.
  • Assist in training new employees by demonstrating proper service procedures and menu knowledge.
  • Attend mandatory company and departmental meetings and trainings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures set by the company and the Health Department.
