About The Position

This is a part-time seasonal position where the Driver drives a company vehicle over established routes to deliver Open Hand/Good Measure Meals to designated locations. The driver is required to maintain a clean MVR to remain eligible to drive. The primary residence must be in the state of Georgia.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English.
  • Experience in using a GPS systems or Work Wave System from a routing standpoint.
  • Ability to communicate with staff, volunteers and clients appropriately.
  • Display great respect to all staff, clients, volunteers and stakeholders of Open Hand; respectfully cares for all Open Hand equipment and property.
  • Act in the best interest of Open Hand (safety, cleanliness, orderliness, tidiness, organization).
  • Adhere to all Open Hand safety guidelines, rules and regulations, company policy manual, code of conduct and attendance policy.
  • Take pride in having no delivery errors and high customer confidence.
  • Respond positively to instruction and feedback.
  • Complete tasks/projects in a timely manner and communicates status.
  • One year of route driving experience and current valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Open Hand/Good Measure Meals to clients using a delivery application as efficiently as possible by reading route sheets to determine points of destination.
  • Provide Client Services, Distribution, and clients with appropriate documentation of non-delivered meals.
  • Responsible for maintaining and cleanliness of all distribution property (company vehicles – inside and out, transport equipment (bags, totes, ice, etc.), and Distribution area).
  • Load assigned package meals for delivery and ensure all product counts are correct before departing facility for delivery.
  • Inspect assigned vehicle (complete Vehicle Inspection Form) before departing Open Hand daily.
  • Assist when needed with packaging of meals to deliver to clients.
  • Initiate and champion LEAN work processes.
  • Empower self and others to take ownership of issues/complications that may arise and take appropriate action to see that issue/complication is resolved.
  • Delegate tasks to maximize resources and take initiative to keep workflow moving and does not wait for tasks to be assigned.
  • Assist with training new staff.
