About The Position

Famous Footwear is seeking a Part-Time Sales Associate who is passionate about providing an excellent shoe store experience for every customer. The role involves creating a welcoming environment and in-store culture that fosters customer loyalty to the store, brands, and company. The associate is expected to be a team player, celebrate successes, stay informed about trends, and share knowledge with customers to build engaging experiences. A love for shoes is essential, as the associate will help customers find the perfect fit and experience the 'Famous Feeling'. Famous Footwear is part of Caleres Inc., a diverse portfolio of 15 global footwear brands with a legacy of over 140 years.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED
Able to build constructive and effective relationships within the store
Demonstrates an ability to communicate positively with store associates at all levels
Must exercise independent judgment and discretion partnering with Store Sales Manager as needed
Strong working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures
Ability to work effectively within a team
Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including holidays, nights, weekends and extended hours

Responsibilities

Ensure daily store tasks such as pricing, shipment processing, fulfillment, and inventory are managed efficiently, keeping the store organized and shoppable.
Deliver on the goal of keeping the store clean, organized, and all famous styles easily shoppable by utilizing company standards.
Champion the Famous culture by embodying behaviors that power Customer Connection, providing stellar customer engagement and top-notch experiences.
Take accountability for individual effort and its impact on Famous Footwear’s overall performance.
Review store performance and drive sales with purpose and urgency to achieve goals.
Deliver clear, concise, and timely communications to the entire store team and employ active listening to ensure understanding among teammates.
Adhere to company policies and procedures, acting with integrity, and seeking feedback for professional development.
Embrace diversity and inclusivity, upholding a work environment where every associate feels included and respected.
Maintain a positive and proactive mindset, uplifting and supporting others, and assisting with training and development when needed.
Act as a 'shoe sleuth' to find the perfect styles for customers, making recommendations and ensuring customers leave with the perfect fit.
Perform other responsibilities as needed to ensure the needs of the business are met.
Work overtime hours as may be required to meet business needs.
