Brentwood School is seeking a part-time after-school robotics coach to begin in August 2026. This role involves working with students and teachers to foster a growth mindset, critical thinking, scientific reasoning, and problem-solving skills through an iterative workflow process. The robotics season runs from September to mid-March, with potential for competition advancement. The coach will supervise students, facilitate their research, design, and innovation, provide technical advice, assist with engineering notebooks, and analyze prototypes. Attendance at evening or weekend competitions is required. The role also includes equipment maintenance, supply organization, and enforcing safety and professionalism standards. A strong background in 3D CAD software, building tools, coding, algorithmic thinking, and a passion for working with middle and high school students are essential. The coach should also possess strong collaboration skills, cross-cultural competency, a commitment to fairness and community, a sense of humor, warmth, energy, and flexibility. COVID-19 vaccination is strongly recommended but not required.
