About The Position
The purpose of the Mentor Trainee Part-Time position is to provide training in entry level positions to cover breaks and call ins as needed. Mentors hired will be assigned to a department with an agreed upon schedule and will then learn jobs in that department as needed. There will sometimes be opportunities for them to be cross trained in other departments. The agreed upon schedule must be consistent and will need manager approval for any modifications.
Requirements
- Excellent hand eye coordination.
- Continuous use of vision/hearing, including peripheral vision.
- Reading and speech required for communication and comprehension of safety procedures and training.
- Self-directed in identifying and efficiently completing tasks.
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and make necessary decisions.
- Must use 14-step lockout/tagout procedure before performing maintenance, clearing jams, or getting into machinery.
- Must use proper PPE (gloves, eye protection, hearing protection).
- Must be aware of and communicate with co-workers at all times.
- Must be able to read and write during safety training.
- Constant use of hearing and vision.
- Frequent bending, twisting, pushing/pulling and reaching.
- Occasional lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling more than 50 lbs.

- The worker may be required to rotate to different positions for cross training purposes or to facilitate production.
