Part-Time Ninth-Grade Tutor - Columbia/Thompson’s Station Area
About The Position
Thrive Education Partners is seeking a patient, engaging, and dependable tutor to provide all-around academic support to a ninth-grade student in the Columbia/Thompson’s Station area. This student would benefit from support across his academic subjects, along with guidance in organization, study skills, assignment completion, and managing the increased expectations of high school. He is a huge sports fan, so the right tutor will be relational and able to use his interests to build connection, confidence, and engagement. The right person will be encouraging and approachable while also providing the structure and accountability he needs to make consistent progress and become a more independent learner.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Teaching, tutoring, or youth mentoring experience
- Experience supporting middle or high school students
- Ability to provide support across multiple academic subjects
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Patient, dependable, encouraging, and relationship-oriented
- Reliable transportation to the Columbia/Thompson’s Station area
- Availability during after-school hours
Responsibilities
- Provide all-around academic support to a ninth-grade student
- Offer guidance in organization, study skills, and assignment completion
- Help the student manage the increased expectations of high school
