About The Position

Don's & Ben's Liquor Store is currently looking for a part-time clerk to fill shifts from Monday to Saturday. The ideal candidate will be hard-working, reliable, and possess excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage the public energetically and enthusiastically. The Store Clerk is responsible for creating a welcoming environment, supporting store operations through stocking shelves, and building customer relationships by greeting them, assisting with product location, and answering questions about products and services.

Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must have reliable transportation and be reliable and punctual.
Six months of proven working experience as a cashier or in customer service/retail industry.
Texas Alcohol and Beverage Commission Certification – Required.
Be able to commute to the business with reliable transportation.
Strong interpersonal skills with a positive and engaging attitude.
Must be able to move throughout all areas of the store including the outside perimeter.
Must be able to safely lift to 40 lbs. to waist level and bend down repeatedly.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and provide exceptional customer service.
Assist customers in finding products and making purchasing decisions.
Provide prompt and friendly customer service.
Manage various transactions with customers using cash registers and accurately process all cash and credit payments.
Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas and perform regular store maintenance such as sanitizing, cleaning, sweeping, and mopping as needed.
Stocking shelves, which may involve carrying large quantities of liquor, beer, and wine, requiring lifting/carrying merchandise up to 40 pounds.
Help with inventory counts when necessary.
Enforce all TABC and liquor laws, including checking IDs and following company policies and procedures.
Open or close the store on time in accordance with hours of operation.
Perform all other duties as assigned to maintain an effective and profitable store operation.
