The Department of English invites applications for instructor positions in the Composition Program, to begin summer 2026. All positions are for summer 2026 in the first instance with the possibility of renewal as department needs require. Applicants should have experience teaching first-year composition and be willing to teach both ENGL101 and ENGL102. Preference will be given to those with graduate-level coursework in composition pedagogy. Instructors are expected to utilize Blackboard to submit a course syllabus, order textbooks or other reading materials, provide developmentally meaningful feedback, present engaging learning experiences, respond to students in a timely manner, communicate regularly with designated academic program director, submit final grades within university deadlines, and comply with other requests as a part-time lecturer such as completing an attestation and disclosure form and annual performance evaluations. The salary is based on a per-credit-hour value. Composition courses are three credit hours. Applicants should submit one document containing a cover letter, CV, statement of teaching philosophy, and at least one sample syllabus for a first-year composition course.
