About The Position

Under the direction of the Assistant Dean of International Students, the PTP International Student Office (ISO) Assistant acts as an ISO administrative assistant and serves as a support staff person to the Assistant Dean. The Part Time Professional (PTP) Assistant will support international students during the admission and transition process as well as help to maintain their immigration status with the U.S. Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) through the duration of their time at Moody and potentially through Optional Practical Training (OPT). Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Demonstrated experience in intercultural communication and proven ability to work with diverse groups of people
  • Detail orientation and commitment to comply with all policies and regulations of SEVP
  • Strong customer service and administrative experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; excellent computer skills, including but not limited to proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Publisher
  • Able to work in the US legally without sponsorship

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the SEVIS system and immigration regulations
  • Cross-cultural experience and/or study abroad experience
  • Familiarity with Terra Dotta

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) for Moody Bible Institute (3 campuses: Chicago, IL; Spokane, WA; and Plymouth, MI).
  • Utilize Terra Dotta and SEVP systems to manage student records.
  • Advise international students on SEVP and general university matters relating to document processing and immigration regulations from admittance through post-graduation OPT.
  • Advise international students on employment, personal, cultural, academic, spiritual and financial matters.
  • Provide administrative support in the implementation of daily operations of the office.
  • Responsible for assisting students and responding to in-person visits, phone calls, emails, and appointment scheduling.
  • Advocate for students regarding unique needs, as well as serve as a resource person in all areas of campus life.
  • Maintain, update, and review records in Campus Solutions database to ensure accuracy of student information.
  • Assist with the implementation of the International Student Orientation Program, workshops and special events, such as graduation party, flag ceremony, ISO events, etc.
  • Respond to inquiries and concerns as needed with faculty, staff and parents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
