About The Position

The Department of Social Work within the College of Nursing & Professional Disciplines (CNPD) is seeking an adjunct instructor. The CNPD's mission is to provide excellent and collaborative education, scholarship, and service to advance human well-being for all, with an emphasis on rural and underserved populations. The adjunct instructor will be responsible for the planning, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and all related activities. Teaching assignments may include courses such as Social Policy, Advanced Generalist Practice Field Education Seminar II, Advanced Generalist Practice with Treatment Groups, Research in Clinical Practice, and Topics of Social Work Practice. This position may be offered in future semesters.

  • MSW degree earned from a CSWE-accredited Social Work program
  • Two years of full-time post-MSW social work practice experience
  • Current or ability to hold an advanced North Dakota Social Work license (i.e., LMSW, LCSW)
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
  • Verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
  • This position does not support visa sponsorship for continued employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctoral degree in Social Work (PhD, DSW) or closely related field
  • Prior experience with Social Work education (e.g., BSW, MSW, field education)
  • Instructional experience in direct practice (individuals, families, groups), policy, and/or macro practice
