About The Position

The Department of Celtic Studies at St. Francis Xavier University is seeking a Part-time Academic Instructor to teach CELT 131 & 132: Celtic Civilizations I & II (3 credits each). The instructor may also teach up to two additional 3-credit courses from the department's offerings, depending on applicant qualifications. The courses will be taught during the fall term (September to December) and winter term (January to April) of the 2026-27 academic year, with classes commencing on September 2nd. While in-person instruction is preferred, proposals for online courses will be considered.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Celtic Studies or related field.
• Strong teaching and communication skills.
• Prior experience in university-level teaching.

Nice To Haves

• PhD in Celtic Studies.
• Ability to teach specific courses from the Celtic Studies offerings.

Responsibilities

• Teach CELT 131 & 132: Celtic Civilizations I & II (3 credits each).
