About The Position

L&M Radiator, Inc., a global designer, manufacturer, and distributor of MESABI cooling and heat transfer solutions for heavy equipment, is seeking an individual to join their Paint Department. This part-time role involves working directly with other painters and the Paint Supervisor to meet production goals. The position may also collaborate with the Research and Development and Engineering departments for testing purposes. The primary responsibility is painting products according to customer specifications for paint colors, ensuring durability against chipping and rust in various weather conditions. Additional duties include changing paint filters, managing paint supplies, and communicating reordering needs to the supervisor, Quality, and Purchasing departments. The role utilizes various tools such as industrial paint guns, pressure washers, scissor lifts, overhead cranes, and sandblasters.

Requirements

  • 18 years or older.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • High school diploma or GED with 1 year of work experience.
  • Industrial Painting skills.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to use mil thickness gauge.
  • Knowledge of painting and spraying.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Ability to communicate, in English, effectively and clearly by both written and verbal means.
  • Physical strength sufficient to perform job duties.
  • Ability to understand and carry out simple oral and written instructions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Required to wear a respirator and PPE uniform.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment written math test, physical, drug and background test.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of painting experience.
  • Knowledge of Epicor or similar ERP system.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Painting products using customer specifications for paint colors.
  • Ensuring paint does not chip or rust in weather conditions.
  • Changing paint filters.
  • Keeping track of paint supplies and communicating reordering needs.
  • Working with industrial paint guns, pressure washers, scissor lifts, overhead cranes, and sandblasters.
  • Ensuring accuracy and quality, following company procedures and specifications.
  • Maintaining an accurate timekeeping record.
  • Reporting problems to supervisor.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work area.
  • Maintaining inventory.
  • Preparing parts for painting.
  • Following SP for customer product.
  • Maintaining and cleaning spray guns.
  • Assisting in other areas of production as needed if qualified.
  • Performing work in a safe manner and following all safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Performing related work or job duties as required by supervisor.
