About The Position

Montgomery College is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated part-time faculty members to teach Clinical Medical Assisting classes in Silver Spring. The ideal candidate will exhibit a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to students, and the ability to motivate and educate in an engaging manner. Applications are accepted on a continuous basis and reviewed periodically based on student enrollment needs. The hiring decision for part-time faculty is an academic judgment determined at Management's sole discretion.

Requirements

• Must have three years of CMA experience
• Must be certified through the National Certification in Medical Assisting, or the equivalent combination of education, training, certification and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and expertise to perform the essential functions of the job may be considered
• Successful candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to promoting belonging, inclusion, and multicultural competence in an educational and work environment
• Must be willing to contribute to the Colleges strategic plan of inclusion
• Faculty members are expected to have access to a personal computer with virus protection that can connect to the internet outside of the work location (i.e., office, classroom, college campus)
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without a sponsor
• Successful completion of a background check and degree verification (if applicable) at the time of hire
• Employees must live in Maryland or a state where the College has payroll reciprocity (DC, VA, PA, WV, DE, MA)

Nice To Haves

• Prior teaching experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Deliver provided curriculum in an engaging manner
• Review material to prepare students to sit for the national certification exam following the completion of the course
• Manage class engagement and clinical exercises
• Manage externship experience
• Collect and grade homework
• Administer quizzes and final exams
