About The Position
Portland Community College is accepting applications for a Part-Time Faculty Interest Pool in Russian. This pool is used to identify applicants for course assignments as the need arises for new part-time faculty. Applications may be considered for substitute or full-term class assignments. The department will review applications as needs arise during the Academic Year.
Requirements
- Master of Arts in Russian, or an MAT in Russian with 30 graduate credit hours in the language, linguistics, literature, and culture.
- Alternatively, a Master of Arts in a related field with a minimum of 30 graduate credit hours in Russian.
- Native or near-native ability in Russian (assessed through a proficiency interview).
- One year of previous college teaching experience in a related subject.
- Teaching ability as evidenced by vita and support materials.
- Reside in Oregon or Washington.
Nice To Haves
- Recent completion of a 3-credit graduate-level course on college-level Second Language Teaching Methods/Methodology for Russian.
Responsibilities
- Teach Russian courses.
- List current PCC courses you would be able to teach.
- Potentially complete a course on college-level Second Language Teaching Methods/Methodology for Russian during the first term of employment if not recently completed.
