About The Position

Montgomery College is accepting applications for part-time faculty members for its Nursing Program at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus. The college is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals with a strong commitment to students and the ability to engage and motivate them. Part-time faculty may teach a limited number of equivalent semester hours per semester and academic year, with specific limits for summer sessions. The hiring decision is at Management's sole discretion and is based on academic judgment and student enrollment needs. Applications are accepted on a continuous basis and reviewed periodically.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
Two years of clinical experience as a registered nurse.
A current, unencumbered Maryland (or compact state) and/or DC Registered Nurse license or the ability to obtain a license before hire.
Bedside nursing experience in a medical-surgical setting and/or specialty care area of nursing (mental health, mother/baby, and pediatrics) within the last two years.
Proficiency with technology, including the ability to use a Learning Management System (LMS) and other web-based instructional technologies.
Demonstrated commitment to promoting belonging, inclusion, and multicultural competence.
Willingness to contribute to the College's strategic plan of inclusion.
Access to a personal computer with internet access and virus protection that can connect to the internet outside of the work location.
Eligibility to work in the United States without a sponsor.

Nice To Haves

Teaching experience (includes precepting).
Experience with multiple teaching modalities.
Experience with engagement with online resources and other technology.
Experience in patient teaching.

Responsibilities

Provide both verbal and written feedback on clinical performance and assignments weekly, including student clinical reflections, nursing plans of care, and patient care concept maps.
Engage and motivate students.
Instruct students in a nursing program.
