About The Position

The School of STEM Department of Natural Sciences at Vermont State University – Lyndon Campus invites applications for a Part-Time teaching position in Atmospheric Sciences for Fall 2026 (August 24 -December 18, 2026). The current course assignment opportunity is ATM 3270 – Television Weather Graphics, which involves 1 hour of remote and in-person on-campus instruction per week (1 teaching credit). This course introduces students to graphical software used to generate daily weather stories for television and digital platform presentations, including learning to construct accurate and visually appealing weather graphics using The Weather Company software and best practices for generating a television broadcast. Additional instructional opportunities in the Natural Sciences may become available throughout the academic year as staffing and curricular needs arise.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or better in Climate Science or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Teaching experience at the college level is preferable

Responsibilities

  • Teach ATM 3270 – Television Weather Graphics
  • Provide 1 hour of remote and in-person on-campus instruction per week
  • Introduce students to graphical software used to generate daily weather stories for television and digital platform presentations
  • Teach students how to construct accurate and visually appealing weather graphics using The Weather Company software
  • Teach students best practices for generating a television broadcast
  • Potentially teach additional courses in Natural Sciences as needed
