About The Position

Design Fundamentals is intended to provide students with an intensive course that will act as a comprehensive introduction to the essential foundation skills from which design processes are built. The areas covered will include the principles and elements of design, color theory, drawing and 3D processes. In order to address an array of disciplines, assignments will encourage students to work across media rather than separating them and to solve problems utilizing media that are the best fit for the most appropriate solution. A wide variety of wet and dry drawing media will be explored, as will collage, clay, wire and print and mixed media. Color will be introduced and important drawing themes such as perspective and composition assimilated. Students will interact with their peers in important group projects and teamwork.
