About The Position

Portland Community College is accepting applications to be considered for Part-Time Faculty assignments in German. This is an interest pool, not an announcement of a specific open position. The department will review applications as the need arises for new part-time faculty in this area. Applications may be considered for substitute assignments as well as full-term class assignments. The college serves approximately 80,000 full- and part-time students across four campuses, five workforce training and education centers, and 200 community locations, aiming to make high-quality education accessible and contribute to economic development.

Requirements

Native or near native ability (to be assessed through a proficiency interview).
One year of previous college teaching experience in a related subject.
Teaching ability as evidenced by vita and support materials.
Recent completion of a 3-credit graduate-level course on college-level Second Language Teaching Methods/Methodology for German (or required completion during the first term of employment at PCC).

Nice To Haves

Master of Arts in German.
MAT in German accompanied by 30 graduate credit hours in the language, linguistics, literature, and culture.
Master of Arts in a related field from an accredited university with a minimum of 30 graduate credit hours in German.

Responsibilities

Teach Part-Time Faculty assignments in German.
Potentially teach substitute assignments as well as full-term class assignments.
List current PCC courses which you would be able to teach.
