About The Position

The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) is seeking an Adjunct EMT Instructor to teach classes as assigned by the Dean of Science, Technology, & Mathematics. The instructor will be responsible for meeting class duration, providing student assistance, maintaining current knowledge in their field, and attending professional development activities. Responsibilities also include maintaining updated documents and grades in the LMS, ensuring syllabi are on file, selecting textbooks, cooperating with advisory committees, demonstrating professionalism, completing required reports, attending college functions, and performing other duties as assigned by the Dean and/or Vice Chancellor for Academics. All employees at UACCM must commit to working cooperatively and delivering quality customer service.

Requirements

  • Must be approved as an EMSP-Instructor in Arkansas
  • Hold a current Arkansas EMS license (EMT or above)
  • Hold a current CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers
  • Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to students and peers
  • Skilled at organizing work and managing time effectively to best serve the department
  • Able to work effectively with people of various cultural backgrounds
  • Able to deliver quality customer service to a diverse student population
  • Able to maintain a professional demeanor at all times
  • Able to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
  • Proficient in the use of computers and basic computer applications
  • Ability to lift and/or move 30 pounds or more
  • Commitment to work cooperatively with all campus personnel to fulfill the Mission of UACCM
  • Ability to deliver quality customer services
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment

Responsibilities

  • Teach classes as assigned by the appropriate Academic Dean, meeting each class for the full duration of each scheduled class period.
  • Provide availability to students a sufficient amount of time out of class to meet their needs for assistance with course work.
  • Maintain skills and knowledge within his or her area, attending required professional development activities on campus and potentially off campus.
  • Maintain updated documents and grades in the current LMS, and submit grades in a timely manner as required by the Registrar’s Office.
  • Ensure that a syllabus for each course taught is on file in the office of the appropriate Academic Dean and that any revisions made are on file.
  • Review and select the textbooks and/or other materials for their assigned course(s) as required.
  • Cooperate with the Advisory Committee for his or her program (if applicable) and incorporate feedback as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate consistent professionalism and commitment to working cooperatively with all campus personnel.
  • Complete any required reports within the prescribed time frame.
  • Attend functions at the College as requested by administrative officers.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Dean and/or Vice Chancellor for Academics.
