About The Position

Berklee College of Music is seeking a part-time faculty member for the Electronic Production and Design Department. The ideal candidate will be a virtuosic electronic music performer with a strong professional profile as a performing and recording artist and innovator. This role involves teaching within the Electronic Digital Instrument (EDI) principal instrument program and major. The successful candidate will have experience as a solo act or performer with international touring acts, a proven ability to foster significant musicianship virtuosity in students, and will contribute to a forward-thinking pedagogy for electronic music players. This is a part-time faculty position with a renewable contract, beginning September 2026. Compensation is based on professional experience.

Requirements

Established electronic musician/performer with significant experience playing in a variety of environments (clubs, concerts, festivals)
Experience working collaboratively with major artists
Established artist profile as a performing electronic musician with significant international performance experience, playing on stage with major artists
Virtuosic player on at least one controller with a working knowledge of multiple controllers
Versatility in a variety of performance settings
Meaningful discography of recordings released and well received by the greater electronic music community
Expertise in music direction and conducting, with a strong ability to lead ensembles
In-depth understanding of a variety of musical genres, including current electronic music sub-genres
Expertise in developing electronic music performance setups and designing both hardware and software electronic music performance systems
Experience working with manufacturers to develop new and innovative performance tools
Expertise in contemporary music production techniques and tools
Ability to read and write music
Vision for establishing a forward-thinking pedagogy and practice techniques for an electronic performer
Experience developing educational materials such as instructional videos and practice materials
Experience developing new curriculum for the modern electronic performer
Experience leading workshops and/or classroom teaching experience
Very strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, with the ability to build consensus and contribute positively to a team-oriented and diverse academic community
Commitment to being a good community member in working with students and colleagues from all backgrounds
