This is an introductory level course that covers topics in biology, chemistry, physics, geology, and environmental science. The Center for Integrative Natural Science and Mathematics at Northern Kentucky University seeks part time faculty to teach an integrative natural science course. This is a 5 contact-hour per week course with twice-a-week combined lecture and laboratory sessions. It covers biology, chemistry, physics, geology, and environmental science topics. The course develops students’ understanding of the scientific method as a tool for inquiry and problem-solving, with emphasis on basic statistical and graphical analysis, critical thinking, and information literacy. It aims to help give students a broad appreciation of how natural sciences interact to form the world around us. The course is required for Elementary Education majors and also fulfills general education requirements.
