The University of Southern Maine's Accounting and Finance Department is seeking part-time instructors for the Spring 2027 and Fall 2027 semesters to teach courses in Managerial Accounting Information for Decision Making (ACC 211), Auditing and Assurance (ACC 410), Financial Accounting Information for Decision Making (ACC 210), and Financial Reporting I (ACC 301). The department is looking for student-focused instructors responsible for the full delivery and grading of the courses. Responsibilities include developing the course, teaching, assessing student performance, and meeting with students as needed. Instructors will be provided with learning objectives, program competencies, and suggested topical outlines, along with a previous course syllabus for reference. Part-time faculty are paid on a credit hour basis according to prior teaching experience, as determined by the Part-Time Faculty Association of Maine (PATFA) contract. Eligible part-time faculty may elect certain benefits, and The Center for Academic Innovation offers learning design consulting and faculty development opportunities.
