Part-Time Evening Field Support Lead – Trash & Recycling Valet – Utah County – TRUCK REQUIRED
About The Position
WSI Trash & Recycling Valet is hiring an Evening Field Support Lead across Southern Salt Lake Valley and Utah County. Shifts run 3–5 hours per evening, Monday through Friday - starting around 5:30 PM. Prior experience helpful but not required. Full training provided. This role offers a consistent evening schedule with real leadership responsibility, short evening shifts that fit around your day, no weekends, and is done by 11 PM most nights. There is a direct path into management. Mileage is reimbursed at the IRS rate. Competitive pay of $20–$25/hr depending on assignment.
Requirements
- A truck is required for this position.
- Applicants must be 18 or older with a valid Utah driver's license and current auto insurance.
- A smartphone with an active data plan and location services enabled is required.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
- Meet the physical demands of the role (extensive walking, ascending/descending stairs, lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs).
- Be available Monday through Friday evenings.
- Willingness to travel throughout Southern Salt Lake Valley and Utah County.
- Reliable, professional, and self-motivated candidates.
- All work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Nice To Haves
- Prior valet trash, porter, or field operations experience is a plus - not required.
Responsibilities
- Support nightly trash and recycling valet routes across apartment communities each evening.
- Monitor routes and provide on-site support to Valet Porters, stepping in to perform collection duties when coverage is needed.
- Collect bagged trash, recycling, and cardboard from residents' doors and transport materials to onsite dumpsters, chutes, or compactors.
- Inspect recycling for contamination, ensure proper separation, and check in/out while documenting your route using a mobile app.
- Issue courtesy compliance notices, upload required photos, and clean up loose trash near dumpsters and compactor areas.
- Assist with training new team members.
- Complete quality audits.
- Occasionally service pet waste stations.
