About The Position
GradePower Learning Frisco West is seeking a part-time High School English Teacher/Tutor. This role is ideal for individuals who are motivated by English, enjoy working with students, and are passionate about helping them succeed. The position involves teaching students in 9th to 12th grade, covering all levels, including ISEE, SAT, and GED preparation. Teacher-tutors at this center do not need to create lesson plans as all materials are pre-prepared. The role is in-person and requires the ability to commute to the Frisco West location.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
- Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
- Strong knowledge of the current 11th to 12th grade English curriculum.
- Some experience teaching/tutoring English.
- Strong English written and oral communication skills.
- Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding.
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.
- Reliability is a must.
- Must be able to commute to the Frisco West location.
- Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
Nice To Haves
- Teaching certification an asset.
- A commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Teach High School Students in 9th to 12th grade, at all levels.
- Comfortable teaching ISEE, SAT & GED.
- Work with students in a learning center environment.
- Assist students in building their Reading & Writing skills.
- Work with up to three students at a time.
