About The Position

Toms River Regional Schools has an opening for a Part-Time Driver in the Food Services Department. This is a 30-hour per week, 10-month position with an hourly rate of $20.00, totaling $23,400 per contract year.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Must possess a legal driver's license and meet state/local requirements for vehicle operators
Ability to read and write English
Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push, pull, and perform repetitive motions
The physical ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds up and down stairs 100% of the time
Ability to do mathematical calculations and be computer literate
Must be clean and neat in appearance, follow uniform policies set forth by the School District and local Health Officials
Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. Citizenship or legal resident alien status

CDL a plus, but not necessary
Communicate effectively and maintain cordial relationships with food service employees and all other district staff members

Responsibilities

Shall perform in accordance with the negotiated agreement between the Board of Education and the Teamster's Local No. 97.
Represents the department in a courteous, efficient, and friendly manner in all customer and employee interactions.
Adheres to sanitation and safety standards in compliance with Health Department, HACCP, and Bio-Security policies.
Maintain a clean and sanitary service vehicle; communicate vehicle problems to the Food Service Director and Transportation Department.
Responsible for delivery and pick up of food and supplies to school by designated time.
Responsible for delivery, set-up, and retrieval of special event orders as assigned.
Responsible for transporting district deposits in a safe and secure manner.
Assist in ordering, receiving and inventorying supplies as necessary.
Maintains required forms as assigned.
Must attend scheduled meetings and training relative to job responsibilities.
Shall perform other duties as assigned by the Food Service Director consistent with this job description.
