About The Position
The Custodian cleans and maintains the general appearance and cleanliness of City buildings and performs a variety of custodial tasks and duties such as emptying trash cans, dusting, sweeping, mopping, cleaning restrooms, replacing tissue, paper towels, and liners. The Custodian is also responsible for turning off lights, ensuring doors are locked when leaving the building, and performing all other assigned duties.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to learn and utilize new skills in the area of custodial work
- Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Responsibilities
- Cleans and maintains the general appearance and cleanliness of City buildings
- Empties trash cans
- Dusts surfaces
- Sweeps and mops floors
- Cleans restrooms
- Replaces tissue, paper towels, and liners
- Turns off lights
- Ensures doors are locked when leaving the building
- Performs all other assigned duties
