About The Position

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking a Part Time Custodian and Cart Attendant to join their World-Class Team. This role is responsible for performing general maintenance and cleaning duties, maintaining high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members, and gathering carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to ensure ready access for club members. The position involves a commitment to delivering excellent service, maintaining club standards, and working collaboratively with a team.

Requirements

• Must successfully complete required training and certification processes.
• Prior maintenance or janitorial experience preferred, but not required.
• Prior retail/wholesale experience preferred.
• Must be over 18 to operate equipment and enter age restricted areas.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with AI tools, including ChatGPT.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and cleaning duties.
• Maintain high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members.
• Gather and return carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance.
• Remove trash or debris from the parking lot, cart corrals, and exterior of the club.
• Ensure carts are well-stocked at the club entrance.
• Verify carts are in working order and clean; remove unsuitable carts.
• Return new and unused merchandise to the sales floor.
• Perform maintenance and cleaning duties including wet and dry mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, carpet extracting, washing glass, emptying trash receptacles, and pulling pallets.
• Maintain outdoor grounds of club property including cart corrals, sidewalks, and outdoor trash receptacles.
• Prioritize maintenance and cleaning responsibilities across the club efficiently.
• Operate floor scrubber, trash compactor, and cardboard baler machines safely and efficiently.
• Restock maintenance/cleaning supplies and ensure supply areas are clean, neat, and organized.
• Perform minor and routine building repairs and notify management of major repair needs.
• Maintain all club policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
• Deliver service excellence through all points of contact.
• Resolve and deescalate to address every member concern.
• Ensure a safe and positive environment and experience for members.
• Greet, Anticipate, Appreciate (GAA) members.
• Maintain a friendly and positive attitude.
