About The Position
We are seeking a dependable, experienced caregiver to provide one-on-one support in a home setting in Dexter. This position is ideal for a caregiver who is proactive, observant, and confident assisting with mobility and transfers. Reliable transportation to Dexter is non-negotiable. Please apply only if you can consistently and dependably commute to the client’s home for all scheduled shifts.
Requirements
- Strong transfer and mobility assistance skills
- Ability to identify changes in condition and recognize needs before they become problems
- Self-starter who can work independently and take initiative
- Dependable, punctual, and professional
- Excellent observation and communication skills
- Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills
- Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodations
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation every single day
- Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner
- Prior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (minimum of 1 year)
- Supportive and compassionate
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Take pride in providing high quality care
Nice To Haves
- Experience with personal care and meal preparation preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist with transfers and mobility support
- Prepare meals and encourage nutrition/hydration
