Part Time Caregiver
About The Position
Seeking a part-time caregiver to assist a pleasant man in his 70s who has dementia but is physically active. The role involves accompanying the client on walks and engaging in active pursuits with him. The client has some balance issues but can walk with standby assistance. The schedule is Tuesdays and Fridays, with 4-hour shifts in the late morning. This role offers flexible scheduling, competitive pay, mileage reimbursement for errands, and paid skills workshops. The company fosters a small-team feel with responsive supervisors and provides opportunities for career growth, including sponsorship for CNA certification.
Requirements
- Experience as a caregiver, HHA, PCA, or similar role preferred (training available for the right heart).
- Current CPR/First Aid (or commitment to earn within 30 days).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and follow all safety protocols.
- Clear, compassionate communicator who respects client privacy.
- Reliable, punctual, and passionate about enriching everyday life for older adults.

Responsibilities
- Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, and safe transfers.
- Prepare simple, nutritious meals and handle light laundry.
- Tidy living spaces.
- Support gentle walks or therapist-approved stretches.
- Provide medication reminders and note wellness changes.
- Offer meaningful companionship, including conversation, games, or outings to appointments and shops.
- Go for walks and be active with the client.
- Provide standby assistance for walking.
