About The Position

We support several before and after school programs within Aurora Public Schools, including charter schools within the district. Candidates should be comfortable working at any of the schools within the district. Additional information about locations will be discussed in the interview process. This is an active, hands-on role that combines mentorship, enrichment, recreation, and academic support. We are looking for positive, energetic team members who enjoy working with school-age children and creating meaningful connections every day.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience working with children in schools, childcare programs, camps, recreation programs, or youth organizations preferred.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude, patience, and a genuine passion for youth development.
  • Candidates must be 18 years old and meet ONE of the following: 3 months/455 hours of verified work experience in the care/supervision of 4 or more children OR Completion of a current Early Childhood Professional Credential of Level 1 of higher.
  • Ability to actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout program hours.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds occasionally.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build positive relationships with students and create a welcoming environment.
  • Serve as a role model by promoting respect, responsibility, and resilience.
  • Support students through positive behavior guidance and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure student safety and well-being at all times.
  • Lead engaging enrichment, recreation, and team-building activities.
  • Facilitate homework help and academic support sessions.
  • Participate in games, fitness activities, and outdoor play.
  • Help students develop social-emotional and leadership skills.
  • Assist with daily program setup and cleanup.
  • Support student check-in, attendance, and dismissal procedures.
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and positive learning environment.
  • Follow all company policies, licensing requirements, and safety procedures.
