About The Position

Saint Patrick Academy is seeking a faith-filled, energetic educator to serve as the Part-Time Art Teacher for Saint Patrick Academy. SPA is a co-educational Independent Catholic school serving students from Pre-K 3 through 8th grade in Portsmouth, NH. The Lower School is comprised of Pre-Kindergarten through 4th grade, and the Middle School houses grades 5–8. SPA provides a challenging and enriched curriculum that allows graduates to achieve success in the high schools of their choice. The Part-Time Art Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering an engaging visual arts program that inspires creativity, imagination, and artistic expression in students across multiple grade levels. The teacher will introduce students to a variety of artistic media, techniques, and art history while fostering confidence, critical thinking, and an appreciation for the creative process. The ideal candidate will create a positive, student-centered classroom environment where all learners are encouraged to develop their artistic abilities. Teachers must possess excellent oral and written communication skills with both colleagues and the community. The ideal candidate has experience teaching art to elementary and/or middle school students, demonstrates a passion for nurturing creativity in young learners, and is skilled in curriculum development and instruction. A willingness to collaborate with classroom teachers, integrate cross-curricular connections, and showcase student artwork through school displays and events is highly valued. SPA teachers are expected to demonstrate meaningful skill with technology in order to create authentic learning experiences for their students. Candidates should also be open to incorporating project-based learning, social-emotional learning, and differentiated instruction into their teaching practice. SPA teachers must be supportive of the Catholic mission and excited to work in a faith-based environment.
