About The Position
Kids in Tech (KiT) is hiring enthusiastic, dependable, and mission-driven Part-Time Afterschool Program Counselors to support our STEM programs throughout Greater Boston and Lowell. This is a great opportunity for high school students, college students, recent graduates, and young professionals who enjoy working with children and want hands-on experience in youth development, education, recreation, or community service.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Dependable
- Excited about working with young people
- Must undergo CORI & SORI background check
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in afterschool programs, camps, mentoring, recreation, education, or other youth-serving settings is helpful but not required.
- Bilingual and multilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Build positive relationships with students and serve as an encouraging role model
- Supervise students and support positive behavior and engagement
- Assist with attendance, transitions, snacks, and dismissal
- Prepare program spaces and organize STEM materials and supplies
- Support field trips, family events, guest speakers, and special activities
- Communicate student successes, concerns, and program needs to Kids in Tech staff
