Part-Time Adjunct - School of Theatre and Dance
About The Position
The School of Theatre and Dance at West Virginia University is seeking applications for part-time Adjunct positions to teach undergraduate, graduate, or non-credentialled courses. The School offers various graduate programs including Acting MFA, Costume Design and Technology MFA, Lighting Design and Technology MFA, Scenic Design and Technology MFA, and Technical Direction MFA. Undergraduate programs include Acting BFA, Dance BA, Musical Theatre BFA, Theatre BA, and Theatre Design and Technology BFA. Applications are reviewed on an as-needed basis, and qualified candidates may be contacted when an opportunity arises. Applications remain active for the calendar year. Salary is determined per course, and these positions are not expected to be benefits-eligible.
Requirements
- Terminal degree (master’s or doctoral) in a closely related discipline, along with related professional experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline along with substantial, highly specialized industry experience will also be considered.
- Cover letter detailing professional experience and teaching strengths/experience related to courses.
- Resume/CV.
- Contact information for two individuals who can provide letters of recommendation.
Responsibilities

- Ensure a valuable, interactive learning experience for students in the online classroom.
