About The Position

Gleim, Inc. is seeking a Part 141 Chief Flight Instructor in Gainesville, Florida. This role involves teaching aviation knowledge to students nationwide through our Online Ground School program, preparing them for FAA knowledge tests. Responsibilities include setting up schools and students with the program, managing course progress, issuing graduation certificates and endorsements, and addressing content-related questions. The position also oversees the growth and development of the company’s flight simulation projects, including software/hardware improvements, sales and marketing, FAA compliance, new software development, and customer technical support. A key aspect is enhancing Gleim’s Online Ground School products with interactive elements like videos, which involves scriptwriting, filming instructional content on aerodynamics, regulations, and flying techniques. The role requires staying updated on FAA policy changes by reviewing notifications and implementing necessary content updates in Gleim products, including conducting research for book revisions. Additionally, the position contributes to marketing campaigns for aviation products, attends trade shows and conferences, and improves the company’s aviation-related web presence through videos and social media engagement, including responding to inquiries from potential customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Aeronautics, Aviation, or a related field.
  • One (1) year of experience in the job offered or a related role working with an FAA designated Part 141 Ground School.
  • Must possess FAA certifications of Flight Instructor, Commercial Pilot with instrument rating, Ground Instructor and Remote Pilot.

Responsibilities

  • Teach aviation knowledge to students nationwide utilizing Gleim's Online Ground School program.
  • Prepare students for FAA knowledge tests.
  • Set up schools and students with the Online Ground School program.
  • Reset courses and provide graduation certificates and endorsements for tests.
  • Clarify content-related inquiries.
  • Oversee the growth and development of the company’s flight simulation projects.
  • Manage improvements to the software and hardware of flight simulation devices.
  • Handle sales and marketing of flight simulation devices to individuals, schools, and organizations.
  • Manage FAA correspondence for approvals and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop new aviation software programs.
  • Lead technical support assistance for customers.
  • Improve Gleim’s Online Ground School products for pilot training by including more interactive means of engagement like videos and effective learning.
  • Draft video scripts for instructional videos.
  • Film instruction videos explaining aerodynamics, aviation regulations, and flying techniques.
  • Keep track of changes in FAA policies and their effects on the aviation landscape.
  • Review notifications from the FAA regarding changes in regulations and policies.
  • Implement changes to the content of Gleim products based on FAA policy updates.
  • Carry out extensive research into changes before reflecting them in books.
  • Contribute to marketing campaigns for company’s aviation products.
  • Attend relevant trade shows and conferences.
  • Improve company’s aviation related pages.
  • Generate customer engagement through videos and social media.
