About The Position

The Division of Parole Board Support Services is hiring for a Parole Board Specialist I. This position will assist with providing information to the parole board members that will be utilized in their decision-making regarding the possibility of parole for eligible inmates. Employees within this position may report to the Parole Board Specialist I, the Justice Program Administrator, or the Division Director. This important position is highly detailed-oriented and has monthly deadlines. You will be working in the Department of Corrections’ Central Office, the work is completed on the computer and is typically solitary. This is an entry level position within the criminal justice system.

Responsibilities

  • Meeting multiple hard deadlines each month and communicating with supervisors about meeting these deadlines.
  • Using a computer to complete all tasks.
  • Following a manual or supervisors direction in completion of duties.
  • Recognizing "red flags" that lead to the need for further investigations.
  • Maintaining an assigned caseload monthly.
