Ensure all Tooele County Parks and Recreation assets and facilities are safe and usable when patrons desire to use them. Performs skilled construction and maintenance work as needed, troubleshoots problems, and completes work orders for Tooele County Parks and Recreation. This role involves working variable shifts and rotating days to include holidays, and requires being on-call 24 hours per day. The position also includes performing maintenance and equipment operation on county-owned dirt tracks and arenas, troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and irrigation systems, and making assignments for repairs on all county buildings and facilities. Additionally, the role involves performing all levels of construction and maintenance of indoor and outdoor facilities, including groundskeeping tasks like fertilizing, weed and pest control, planting, pruning, trash pickup, restroom cleaning, mowing, and snow removal. Maintenance and repair of sprinkling systems, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roads, parking areas, RV parks, and landscaped areas are also key responsibilities. The specialist will ensure facilities are prepared for events, perform construction work with various materials, and maintain/repair all equipment used. Assisting and overseeing facility patrons and contractors, ensuring employee safety and OSHA standards, and safely operating heavy equipment and power tools are also part of the duties. The role includes securing the facility at close of operation, keeping maintenance records, troubleshooting problems, determining cost estimates for repairs, and assuring employee and public safety during all procedures.
