Variable Parks Maintenance Worker
About The Position
The City of Lakewood is seeking variable employees for the Urban Parks Division to perform a variety of maintenance operation functions. Variable employees are at-will, seasonal, or temporary, with schedules based on business needs. This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Depending on the specific role assigned (Urban Parks, Forestry, Right-of-Way, or Greenhouse), duties may include park cleanup, mowing, sports field maintenance, weeding, irrigation, pruning, planting, equipment repair, minor construction, installation and maintenance of plant materials, tree trimming and watering, insect control, litter control, and greenhouse operations such as plant production and maintenance of flower displays. Employees must use City-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when exposed to risks above those in a traditional office setting, as failure to do so can result in a safety violation and disciplinary action.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
