About The Position

Performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks including maintenance of all park facilities, janitorial duties, restroom cleaning is a must, trash pickup, weeding, raking, painting, and special events preparation and other duties as required. Incumbents receive general supervision from a Lead Maintenance Technician, Coordinator or Supervisor.

Requirements

• Must be at least 17 years old at the time of hire
• Possess a valid Arizona driver's license
• Must be able to perform physical work outdoors under all weather conditions
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
• Skill in performing grounds/facilities maintenance and landscaping tasks
• Skill in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
• Skill in using hand and power tools to maintain/repair buildings and facilities
• Skill in following oral and written instructions
• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with the general public and City employees contacted in the course of work
• Ability to clearly, concisely and effectively communicate in person and over the telephone
• Ability to effectively and safely perform required duties
• Ability to safely operate required equipment and city vehicle as needed
• Successful candidate will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include: Drug screening, Motor vehicle records check, Criminal background screening
