About The Position
The City is seeking a dependable and hardworking Parks Maintenance Technician I to help care for our parks, trails, athletic fields, and recreational facilities. This position plays an important role in keeping our community’s parks safe, clean, and welcoming for residents and visitors. Requirements
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Valid Texas driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One (1) to two (2) years of related experience in parks maintenance, landscaping, construction, or a similar field preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of grounds maintenance equipment to maintain parks, athletic fields, courts, playgrounds, picnic areas, trails, and pavilions.
- Install and maintain flowerbeds, gardens, and landscaped areas.
- Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides while maintaining accurate application records.
- Inspect park grounds, facilities, and equipment to ensure safety and proper maintenance.
- Maintain and repair irrigation systems and wells.
- Perform general facility maintenance and repairs including carpentry, plumbing, and minor electrical work.
- Maintain assigned vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Assist with maintenance of boardwalks, bridges, shelters, and other park structures.
- Support park maintenance for special events when required.
- Follow all department safety policies and procedures.
