As a leader in municipal off-street parking operations, this position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing off-street parking facilities, ensuring they are safe, efficient, and accessible for the public. The role involves supervising staff, managing maintenance across assigned areas, and driving the successful implementation of division processes and procedures. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or 2 Years of College in Public Administration, Business Administration or related field; 5 to 7 years’ experience in parking enforcement, parking system management, or related work OR Any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted.
  • Valid North Carolina Class C Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record, or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
  • Problem-Solving: Capacity to assess issues quickly, develop practical solutions, and implement improvements
  • Innovation and Initiative: Willingness to introduce new ideas, improve efficiency, and adapt to evolving city needs
  • Customer Service: Strong focus on serving the public, addressing concerns, and ensuring a positive experience in parking facilities

Responsibilities

  • Oversees municipal off-street parking operations, including contracted vendors and facility maintenance across assigned geographic areas
  • Manages maintenance projects, including consultant coordination, prioritization, plan review and decision making
  • Analyzes parking utilization to understand the balance of parking supply and demand
  • Develops and implements program policies, procedures, goals, and objectives to support operational excellence
  • Responds to service-related inquiries and concerns by researching complaints and implementing operational improvements
  • Utilizes a city vehicle to transport materials to and from garages
