About The Position

The cashier will serve as a full-time parking garage attendant for the University of Kansas Medical Center Parking Services division. Incumbents are responsible for managing daily parking revenue, including collecting fees, making deposits, and maintaining accurate cash records. They provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff, offering assistance and information. The cashier also performs general surveillance and supports team training.

Responsibilities

  • Collect parking tickets and associated parking fees.
  • Counts and verifies cash amounts collected.
  • Ensure that operating cash amounts are maintained in accordance with department policy.
  • Make deposits, collect and complete deposits, and collect ticket debit forms.
  • Operate an electronic cash register.
  • Observes deposit drops.
  • Collect waste from receptacles outside parking garages, surface lots, and other campus areas daily.
  • Provide assistance to patients, visitors, faculty, and staff.
  • Perform customer service duties to include information dissemination to co-workers, employees, faculty, patients, and visitors.
  • Answer telephone calls.
  • Raise/lower parking garage exit gates as needed.
  • Perform general surveillance, including operating video surveillance equipment when needed.
  • Report suspicious activities to the Police Communication Center for follow-up, when necessary.
  • Complete and submit incident reports.
  • Participate in the training of new garage attendants, when necessary.
  • Attend monthly meetings and training sessions, as required.
