About The Position

The Parking Services Department within Facilities and Business Operations is seeking to hire a Parking Patroller. This role involves patrolling the university’s parking lots and garages to ensure compliance with UCF parking regulations. The Parking Patroller will maintain the functionality of LPR (License Plate Recognition) software, report issues to the supervisor, and uphold fair parking enforcement in accordance with Florida statutes and local ordinances. Additionally, the Parking Patroller will assist with university events and issue parking citations for violations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 0+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.
  • Position requires a valid Class E driver’s license.
  • All applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer.
  • May be required to participate in respiratory, medical examination and training in use of respirators.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in parking enforcement or related field.
  • Knowledge of parking regulations and enforcement procedures.
  • Familiarity with License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology and software operations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in outdoor conditions and within differing climates patrolling the campus.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce parking regulations and issue citations in compliance with UCF and state guidelines.
  • Install immobilization devices and coordinate towing for violations and restricted areas.
  • Provide customer service, directions, and assist stranded motorists.
  • Report suspicious activity to University Police.
  • Ensure LPR systems are operational and report equipment issues.
  • Document enforcement actions, towing activity, and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist with training new staff and onboarding as needed.
  • Support parking operations during events, including traffic control and space reservations.
  • Identify hazards and assist with basic lot/garage maintenance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned (must be able to lift up to 25 lbs).
