About The Position

The Indianapolis Zoo is seeking a Parking Lot Attendant who has a talent for engaging with visitors and making people feel welcome. This role involves communicating with guests, answering questions and concerns, and providing information and directions while delivering exceptional customer service. Ideal candidates are committed to advancing the Zoo's mission to protect nature and inspire people to care for our world. Past work experience in customer service is strongly desired, as well as a patient and positive demeanor.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED required
• Must be comfortable working with the public in a professional and courteous manner.
• Must display good judgment skills and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to communicate verbally and comprehend and decipher information accurately using a two-way radio.

Nice To Haves

• Past work experience in customer service is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, professional service to Zoo guests and staff members.
• Communicate effectively by speaking in a clear and accurate manner.
• Guide and direct guests in a detailed and pleasant demeanor.
• Welcome and advise guests on bus shuttle arrival times.
• Act as a guide by providing the safest path and instructions for guests.
• Work closely with Security staff to provide a safe environment for all guests.
• Perform additional duties and/or assumes other responsibilities as delegated by the Director of Security.
• Ensure safety procedures are being followed by both staff and guests.
