Parking Enforcement Specialist
About The Position
Performs responsible specialized work enforcing City ordinances governing vehicle parking; issues parking tickets and places thirty-five pound immobilization devices onto vehicles having excessive unpaid violations. Upon completion of training, work is performed with limited supervision, requiring the use of independent judgement, and the ability to communicate effectively with potentially irate citizens. This position requires the ability to stand/walk/ride a bicycle for extended periods, ride a bicycle throughout most shifts, work in inclement weather and lift up to 35 pounds.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Valid Florida Driver's License
- Must successfully complete a sixteen (16) hour training program (Parking Enforcement Certification class) within 6 months of employment
- Ability to deal with the public
- Polygraph examination required prior to employment
