About The Position

The Parking Controller will assist the Assistant Director in planning, coordination and management of parking and transportation for campus events. Manage and support front-line customer service and business plan initiatives. Parking Controllers perform a combination of functions including Ticket Writer, Info Booth Attendee, Relief Guard, Auto Assistance, Customer Service, and Boot Driver.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or GED.
  • Two (2) years working with the public, or in customer service positions or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience in similar role.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle in the state of Texas and possess an acceptable driving record.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a service or business related field
  • one (1) year working in parking and transportation environment.
  • Previous staff management experience.
  • Two (2) years working at the University of Texas at Arlington.

Responsibilities

  • Patrols parking areas on foot, bike, cart, and truck to ensure that only authorized vehicles are using the parking facilities.
  • Articulates directional information and location of buildings and offices to visitors.
  • Issues official visitor permits.
  • Supports the “Event” staff by delivering, setting up, and taking down cones, barricades, signs, and sign covers.
  • Serves as liaison between parking office and campus community.
  • Installs and removes immobilization devices.
  • Facilitates towing of vehicles with impound lot.
