About The Position

Greet drivers upon arrival to the East parking lot located off 105th Avenue on the east side of Gulf Blvd. Direct resort guests and other visitors to the appropriate parking area or non-patrons to City owned paid parking.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all equipment is in place and in good working order
  • Check in with the resort MOD or front desk supervisor to get updates on expected traffic flow, special events or other situations. If relieving another Attendant gather any information that will assist you during your shift.
  • Position your station out of the main traffic flow for your safety. Place an orange cone so it creates a “lane” between the entrance and exit of your position. This will encourage a driver to slow down before approaching your position.
  • Greet each driver with a smile and appropriate greeting. Many guests and restaurant patrons are not familiar with the resort and you will be their first impression. Remember, many travelers have had a long trip before arriving to the resort. By being friendly and informative you will help them get into the relaxing mood they are here.
  • There are 3 lots on the east side. Front by Gulf Blvd is for VALET, Middle is for RESORT GUESTS with Yellow or Blue Parking Pass, Back Lot is for Staff, Non-Valet Restaurant and overflow Guest. You must pay attention to all 3 lots to utilize the spaces as described above.
  • Be familiar with the amount of available parking. This will help you direct drivers to the best parking option.
  • During Peak Season and Special Events (Sanding Ovations) Sloppy Joe’s Parking is Valet only.
  • If a guest has a valid Bilmar Parking Pass displayed on their dash board you can direct them to the main west parking lot (if spaces are still available).
  • Drivers not staying at the hotel are usually coming to the resort to enjoy Sloppy Joe’s, Waves or a Banquet function. If Valet Parking is available direct them to the correct area. These patrons are very important to the success of our business and should be treated with respect but there is not ample parking in the West lot to accommodate them and our overnight guests (which pay over $250.00 per night for their guest room).
  • Throughout the week vendors will need access to the parking areas. They should be allowed to enter the West lot to make deliveries or unload equipment. Entertainers are requested to unload their equipment and move their vehicles to the East parking lot behind Walgreen’s. Exceptions can be made by the MOD or General Manager.
  • Employees of neighboring restaurants like Ricky T’s or VIP are NOT allowed to use our parking. They need to see their manager for parking instructions.
  • It is the resort management’s policy to use “shoppers” on occasion to monitor customer service levels and property controls. Be aware it is a violation of company policy to accept cash or other gratuities in exchange for non-guest parking.
  • Refer to your employee handbook for other policies pertaining to your employment.
