About The Position

Parking Attendants report to the Security Supervisor over parking. They are required to drive and park patient, visitor, medical staff and employee vehicles in a safe manner. They are required to assist with the management of parking, through the use of cones, signage and by giving direction to drivers. They are expected to follow direction and be attentive to details. They are expected to work in all types of weather. They are expected to communicate clearly both verbally and through email. They are expected to be flexible with changing traffic conditions and parking congestion. They are to report any unusual occurrences to the appropriate individuals. They are responsible for enforcing all established hospital policies and procedures. Important dimensions of this position consist of professional commitment, interpersonal skills, safety, and good public/customer relations.

Requirements

  • Ability to drive standard and automatic vehicles required.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Strong verbal communication.
  • Good customer service skills are required.
  • Clear handwriting.
  • Good spelling.
  • Must possess a valid California driver’s license.
  • An acceptable driving record of three points or less.
  • Participation in the DMV pull-notice program.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a parking attendant or valet strongly preferred.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Scheduling flexibility strongly preferred.
  • High school diploma, G.E.D. or combination of education and relevant work experience preferred.
  • Must pass orientation and assigned competencies.
