About The Position

Parker Store Associate — Hose, Fittings & Fluid Power. At the RitterTech ParkerStore in Saginaw, MI, our Store Associates are the experts that manufacturing, automotive, construction, and industrial customers count on when their equipment goes down and they need the right hose or fitting — fast. You will help customers identify solutions, build hose assemblies using our in-store crimping equipment, process orders, manage inventory, and keep the store running smoothly. No two days are exactly the same, and the work you do directly helps customers get back up and running. If you are mechanically inclined, enjoy helping people solve problems, and want to build real product knowledge in fluid power, this is a great role to grow with.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service and communication skills — comfortable assisting a wide range of customers in person, on the phone, and by email.
  • Mechanical aptitude with a genuine interest in learning fluid power products and applications.
  • Reliable, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced store environment.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office; ability to learn ERP and CRM systems.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work comfortably in a store and warehouse environment.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a ParkerStore, fluid power distribution, or industrial hose and fittings environment.
  • Background in or trainable on industrial hose crimping machines (Parker preferred).
  • Familiarity with multi-carrier shipping systems and warehouse processes.
  • Experience with inventory software or ERP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist walk-in, phone, and email customers in identifying the right hoses, fittings, adapters, and fluid power products for their application.
  • Provide knowledgeable product recommendations and troubleshoot customer needs with a solution-first approach.
  • Follow up on quotes and orders with customers by phone, email, or in person.
  • Recommend and upsell support programs, product accessories, and additional Parker product lines to meet customer needs.
  • Log activities, opportunities, and contacts in CRM.
  • Fabricate Parker hydraulic and pneumatic hose assemblies using in-store crimping equipment to customer specifications.
  • Build assemblies accurately and efficiently — customers often need them while they wait.
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of Parker hydraulic and pneumatic hoses, fittings, tubing, and couplings.
  • Check inventory, send quotes, and enter orders through the ERP system.
  • Assist with order entry, pulling orders, shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, and checking in merchandise.
  • Conduct cycle counts and maintain accurate inventory levels in the store.
  • Maintain store merchandising — keeping displays full, clean, and organized and signage current.
  • Record amounts of items received or distributed in the inventory control system.
